I finally decided to take the plunge and try some carbide turning tools. Not knowing for sure if I was going to like them I did not want to spend hundreds of dollars, plus the 'tool' just holds the carbide tip which is what does the work. These fit the bill perfectly, very inexpensive and appear to be of pretty good quality, even if the carbide tips wear out faster than some of the more expensive ones then they can be replaced with better ones. Shipping was extremely fast and they came well packaged. The only potential complaint would be that two of the tools look like the bit screw holes were drilled slightly off-center, they are really close but still not perfect. I don't think this will be a problem, but if it is then I will just redrill and tap the holes.
All in all these are a great bargain and I think that I will get many years use out of them. Vevor is becoming one of my first websites to check when I need a new tool.
