All About Pool Filters

A clean pool is a healthy pool. Keeping a clean and clear pool is also essential for your utmost relaxation and health. To keep a clean pool, you need an efficient pool filter to clear off the debris and dirt from your pool. Whether it is an inground or above-ground pool, pool filters are indispensable. At VEVOR, we have the best pool filters for your pool's cleanliness. It is very affordable and durable.

Types and Features of Pool Filters

There are three types of Pool Filters;

  • Sand Pool Filters

These are the most commonly used filters at the moment. With so little maintenance, they will serve you efficiently for a long time. Our Sand Fillers only need to be backwashed to remove the captured dirt. Cleaning should be done at least once every season, and you are guaranteed an efficient pool cleaning for the rest of the season. They provide quality, clean water while supplying a large volume of water.

  • Cartridge Pool Filters

Cartridge Filters are best used as above-ground pool filters. They are more affordable than sand filters but are less effective in filtering small particles. Cartridge Filters are known for their low maintenance requirement as they only require periodic cleaning or replacement. Our VEVOR Cartridge Pool Filters are efficient and affordable for both your inground and above-ground pools

  • DE Pool Filters (Diatomaceous Earth)

Of all pool filters, DE filters provide the most efficient filtration. They can trap particles as small as 2-5 microns. Utilizing diatomaceous earth (fine powder obtained from fossilized remains of diatoms), DE filters ensure water clarity for your pools, especially your inground pools. DE filters, however, require more maintenance than any other filter. You are required to backwash the filter and add fresh DE at least once monthly.

Choosing the Right Pool Filter

When selecting a pool filter, consider the following factors to ensure you choose the best option for your needs:

  1. Pool Size: First, you need to consider your pool size. For large pools, consider buying a Sand Filter as they have larger tanks. For smaller pools, you may consider cartridge filters.
  2. Maintenance: As we outlined earlier, some pool filters require more maintenance than others. For ease of cleaning, go for sand filters. They only require periodic backwash, so you're good to go. Cartridge filters require periodic cleaning or replacement, while DE filters require regular backwashing and change of DE powder. Make your choice according to your maintenance abilities.
  3. Level of Water Clarity: If water clarity is a top priority, DE filters should be your go-to option. Next should be Cartridge Filters and, lastly, Sand Filters. Your next option should be cartridge filters, then sand filters.
  4. Energy Efficiency: Some brands of pool filters are more energy-conserving than others. Always go for energy-efficient pool filters that help reduce operational costs.
  5. Durability: Above all, always choose high-quality products. That is why we recommend VEVOR Pool Filters because of their premium performance.

This is How to Maintain Your Pool Filter

  • Clean Regularly: Clean your filter at least once every month or according to the manufacturer's instructions. Also, replace cartridges when due for cartridge filters and change DE powder for DE filters.
  • Monitor Filter Pressure: High pressure indicates that the filter is dirty. Ensure regular checks of the pressure gauge are performed to avoid piling dirt in the filter.
  • Maintain Water Chemistry Balance: Maintain proper water balance by regularly testing and adjusting chemical levels. Balanced water chemistry prevents scaling, corrosion, and other issues that can affect filter performance.
