My star rating is based on its use for a single residential application. I'm generally not a fan of electrics, and this would not be feasible as a commercial landscaper's trimmer, of course. Nothing beats a good 2-cycle engine for that. (I have a Vevor cultivator 2-cycle and it is a BEAST.) But for most individual residential applications, this does the trick. I use it on a 1/4 acre property, and it does the job around the flower beds, back patio, and trees in my yard. The battery lasts for more than a single mowing. I only have to recharge it after 2-3 mowings. I bought both the edger and this trimmer at the same time. The batteries are interchangeable if I needed to use one. It's also easily adjustable as far as the handle is concerned and has wheels on the guard so you can rotate it and use it as an edger.
